Limahl Gets Beatup

Black eye during the production of the "Formel Eins" film.

Press conference at Hilton hotel in Munich. A reporter asks Limahl: "Were you with a girl last night, one of your many fans perhaps?" – "Yes", Limahl answers surprised. "There is a girl in Munich..."

He does not go any further. Suddenly a guy in green army uniform and heavy combat boots storms through the rows of frightened journalists, his face distorted with rage. Limahl screams. "My girlfriend, you jerk", the unknown guy yells, before he is taken into custody by the hurrying hotel waiters.

"Cut" –Director Wolfgang Büld (who also directed "Gib Gas, ich will Spass" with Nena) brings about a peaceful end to the wild wrangling. The flashlight thunderstorm from the genuine and false photographers stops. The dramatic scene, in which leading actor Stevie (Frank Meyer-Brockmann) gives pop star Limahl a black eye because of jealousy over his girlfriend Tina (Sissy Kelling), is in the box. All just an act...

Limahl beams with joy with his purple and violet eye on the set of the "Formel Eins"-movie. It takes three hours to record the scene, which you can see in the film released on the 5th July.

This is what Limahl says on the Bravo-telephone: "Hello, this is Limahl on the Bravo telephone. I hope that you are all well. I have spent two months in America, promoting "The Neverending Story" and making plans for my new album, which I will be recording this summer. I will talk to you about this tape in Munich at the recording of the "Formel Eins" film. You can see me on the movie screen in July. And I hope that by the end of this year you will hear from me with my new album. Until then, be happy, Limahl."
