Name : Ilona From: UK Comments: Hi Julie. I appreciate your sentiments but I really am not in contact with Limahl -as I mentioned earlier this year his last email to me was to say that he was blocking emails from me. Well before that, given that I was in a similar way concerned that he could have been misunderstanding me, my other half had attempted to intervene but to no avail -Limahl didnt actually respond to any of the points made and decided not to continue the conversation any longer. Since his return here two months ago I have been waiting for him either to clarify the situation to fans himself or to contact me which is what a lot of people had assumed had happened. I had to clarify my position for all concerned, for both opposing parties so they knew where they stood, for fans so they knew not to treat everything as valid just because I had left it there and also for very good legal reasons (given what I've seen of the fights previously and a previous mention of legal action, as the person responsible for this visitor book I had to protect myself). It was that or having to be heavy handed and unfair with the censoring which I dont think anyone would have appreciated. If Limahl keeps his promise then he isnt completely gone and if he really appreciates being in contact with his fans then obviously he will set up his own visitor book. Sorry but there is really nothing more to be done. - Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 21:43:09 (GMT)

Life is to short for all this. This is a great site and its a shame to see all this hostility. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL. - Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 15:37:24 (GMT)
Name: Julie From: UK Comments: I have just read this visitors book in complete shock and all I want to say is this. I understand that emotions are high on both Limahl's and Ilona's part and what we have here is a deadlock because both parties believe in the strength of their own opinions which is absolutely right and correct. What is wrong is posting communications in the manner of such for fans to see. I think this disagreement is a private matter and would be better resolved that way. I understand and respect both your points of view but it is very upsetting to see postings like this appearing on the visitors book. Limahl, you are and always be loved by your fans and your new website will be welcomed with open arms when it is unveiled. In the meantime to leave us again with no postings is so upsetting because hearing what you are up to and knowing your thoughts especially like at the sad time of losing your dad, has enabled us to feel that we have been able to offer comfort to you when we really want want and need to so. How can we do that if you are not here anymore? We want to be here for you and for you to know that, the only way therefore is for us to talk here on the VB. We love you, always have and always will. Ilona, you have made a brilliant job of this webiste and because of you I was able to find Limahl again after wondering for years what he was up to before discovering the wonder of the internet. You then very kindly perserveered to get me two personalised autographs from Limahl which are still treasured to this very day nearly three years on. You have given more joy than you can ever imagine to fans (myself included) by organising this fantastic website and we can never repay you enough for the updates that you constantly provide. You too play a very important part and remain professional in every way to maintain what has become a very good way for fans to look into Limahl's wonderful career both past and present. Sorry to make this a long posting but to both of you. Arrange a meeting between yourselves and talk to each other. Do not email each other as true emotions are not reflected when they are typed and can come across with different interpretations to what you are actually trying to say. Think about all you have given and can still give by resolving your differences. I wish both Limahl and Ilona a Happy New Year and hope that my comments can reach out to you both. Take care - Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 12:32:12 (GMT)

I think we're a little older than that... hope that everybody agrees with me... If it wasn't out of curiosity to You [Limahl], nobody would visit this site, just because.. so I think you really got a point and Ilona should let go and move on... hope you read this and my 1st posting from last night and at least you e-mail me your opinion... love and respect .. wish all the best for 2 0 0 4..SLIM K - Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 10:28:11 (GMT)

Name: Limahl From: London (UK) Comments: Dear all, I have given this some thought and decided I have absolutely no further comments to make re Kajagoogoo or Ilona and her website……I have said, all I feel I needed to say……to be dragged into it further is just not becoming of me and is negative……frankly in the big scheme of things going on in the world (50,000 dead in Iran earthquake, Iraq War, poverty, death and disease everywhere), any words I exchange here with them is a petty storm in a teacup !! Actually, if I had NOT left any postings here in the first place then I wouldn’t have needed to respond at all…….so without further ado, that’s exactly what I’m going to do……I am leaving this site now and I don’t plan to leave any further postings in the future. Happy new year everyone. Limahl ;--)) - Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 09:20:08 (GMT)
Name : jojo From: UK Comments: Whats going on here...... isn't it about time this stopped. We are entering 2004 in 24 hrs or so, lets put this behind us. I attended a funeral yesterday of a 7 yr old boy who had his whole life ahead of him, and it just makes me think that something so precious can be taken so suddenly... lifes to short to bicker, you never know whats round the corner. So come on have some fun. Don't be angry, at least Kaja and Limahl are alive and well..... TAKE CARE - Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 09:12:58 (GMT)
Name: Debbie From: UK Comments: My heart sank when I first set eyes on the entries here today, and now I have digested everything, there are a couple of things I would like to say. Firstly (and this has been said) Why oh Why could this have not been left until AFTER the VH1 programme!!! Surely you Limahl know that once it is aired there will be a lot of new visitors who will visit the guestbook and if I was you I wouldn’t want them reading all this. But more importantly the number of “Limahl Fans” who attended the gig was minimal, there are many around the world who are waiting eagerly for the programme to be aired – at least when I attended the gig I could pretend for a few minutes that maybe you were all genuine, that you were having fun (I am not naïve enough to think that a full reunion would have come out of it anyhow) but now how are all your other fans going to feel when they watch….that it was all a sham?? You could have at least let them have that feeling that I had!! And now to your petty quarrel with Ilona – How patronising you are!! I quote “I met you 2 or 3 times briefly cause I thought it was sweet that you were running a website about me” . Have you any idea what it must be like running a Limahl website?? It’s not just about you, it’s about caring for the fans – you have never bothered giving us anywhere else to go or making Ilona’s site official so without this website where do you think you would have been over the last few years? This site has allowed a loyal fanbase to develop, fans who would like to know where you are playing and what you are doing (all the time, not just when it suits you) and who is it that has to deal with the disappointment when you fail to deliver – Ilona. Who is it that takes away posts which have been nasty towards you – Ilona. Who is it that has steadily guarded your privacy over the last few years – Ilona. Who is it that acts as a go-between between you and your fans – Ilona. Who is it that when she knows something that she thinks the fans should know, keeps it from us for your benefit – Ilona. And before I finish – No Limahl Ilona is not a particular friend of mine, we just have a mutual respect for one another which we have built up over the last few years, Ilona has always been polite but guarded, she is friendly and tactful but doesn’t allow fans to get too close to her. Any requests (and she does get many, I don’t think you have any idea) are dealt with quickly and tactfully and even when she has to decline requests on your behalf from your fans, it is done in such a way that the fan still keeps coming back because she hasn’t offended them – Good One Limahl – you are single handedly destroying all of her hard work! To finish I would like to say that I have had some truly wonderful times over the last five years, been to some brilliant gigs, had some wonderful experiences, met some fantastic people and made really good friends, who am I thanking for this? It’s Ilona because without HER website it would never have happened. I t hink it’s time I moved on. - Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 09:09:25 (GMT)

Name: Limahl From: London (UK) Comments: You are simply wrong Ilona......most of the people who turned up at the Kajagoogoo reunion concert, did so after my DJ friend at 'Heart FM' London (Pat Sharp) gave it a plug on his daily radio show......I'm sure I had visited your guestbook again before that reunion show anyway, simply because fans were asking me questions and I felt I wanted to respond !! I still sense a real dislike and anger from you which raises a very important question......why the hell do you devote your time and energy to a website thats dedicated solely to 'Limahl' when you clearly don't like the guy ?? So get rid of it, why don't you ?? (anyway, even if you don't like me, you really don't know me at all Ilona - I met you 2 or 3 times briefly cause I thought it was sweet that you were running a website about me......that's the kinda guy I am, I'm a nice guy)......anyway, I thought my postings might break the ice between us......life's too short n' all that......notice how I started all my postings with "Hi Ilona" out of respect for you......oh well, I have moved on Ilona but clearly you have NOT !! Placing a 'link' indeed to our previous postings seems rather PETTY.......so again I say to you, get rid of the website Ilona, if all the fans know I disapprove of you and your attitude, what's the point ?? its a bad vibe and invalidates the whole idea of your fansite......its hypocritical even, so get rid of it......go on, I dare you ? Limahl PS: Surely other 'Limahl' fans can see my point......why should a woman who doesn't like an artiste run a website dedicated to him ? Shouldn't she close the site down ? - Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 02:06:36 (GMT)

I'm very exited to see the reunion show on VH-1... I agree with you Limahl and what you think and wrote in all those e-mails of yours about your experience with the Kaja Boys.. it's indeed a pitty of them not to cooperate and come [after 20 years] above money and greed.. just to see the art and nostalgia... and at least to try it out.. their very talented [see ISLANDS] and certainly you too... together you guys are just amazing... too bad..[see the success of Duran Duran's Reunion! I love them too, they're still amazing!] anyway I'm looking forward to hear and see more of you Limahl! I Love You and please never stop inspiring me.. Name: Limahl From: London (UK) Comments: Yes, just to confirm, Ilona & I are NOT in contact since we fell out over some fairly trivial website stuff in Feb, I'm sure we've both moved on......a few months later I finally stopped by to see the guest book again and left a posting. Anything I write here is not condoned by Ilona, she has some strong opinions of her own, as I discovered. Anyway, I promise you I am finally in the process of setting up my own website and I hope to see you all there when its up and running in 2004, I'm planning some cool stuff, like, a selection of early demo recordings that NOBODY has ever heard plus some of the great stuff I worked on as 50% of production team 'Jupiter', plus hopefully some 'Limahl' merchandise and lots lots more......its gonna take time though so pls be patient with me. Be happy, Limahl ;--)) - Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 20:38:56 (GMT)
Name: Limahl From: London (UK) Comments: Hi Ilona and everyone, for the record, I will NOT be responding to any more postings about the Kajagoogoo reunion and I agree with Ilona, its a pity all this didn't come out until after the VH1 show had been broadcast, but rest assured, the two days filming with VH1 was genuine on my part, I put all the old crap completely outta my mind so I could experience it with a clear heart/conscience. I'm sorry if I offended anyone by revealing my professional opinion about the Kaja boys, I certainly didn't wanna open up another huge slagging match debate on this guest book, I don't have the time or inclination......I just felt strongly that it wasn't my fault and I believe the fans have a right to know, that's all. subject closed. Limahl - Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 20:17:27 (GMT)
Name : Ilona URL: http://www.limahl.co.uk/ From: UK Comments: I agree with Sheila. It is a pity that this acromony couldnt have waited until after the fans had actually had a chance to enjoy the gig on VH1. I'm not at all suprised given what Limahl said in his posting, that someone claiming to be connected with the rest of the band has responded. Infact I do think they have a right to reply given that this is in a public forum. But so there is no misunderstanding should this 'conversation' continue and given that I have to mediate this visitor book, I want to make my position clear as from the emails I recieve it is clear that there are many fans who think that this site has reverted back to how it used to be. It has not. Nothing has changed since February this year. This always has been an unofficial site and I am not in contact with Limahl. There are limits to how much I can validate the entries made to this visitor book. Given that I would really not want to interfere with anyone's reply, I will usually leave postings. So what I am basically saying is that it is up to you to be sceptical about the claimed identity of the poster. If I am certain that the posting is fake, I will delete it. I will also delete any postings that I consider to have infringed personal privacy or involve significant abuse or be phobic in any way. Will both parties please remember that there are fans that dont want to choose sides and some that would simply like to reminisce without the aggro. Both sides have the right to choose their own futures although it's not to be unexpected that some fans are going to be dissappointed. All the best for the year ahead, Ilona - Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 19:43:27 (GMT)

Name: Limahl From: London (UK) Comments: Bernie (or whoever you are), it wasn't just myself seeking to resolve a very old sticking point in the negotiaions, it was Jez (the drummer) too......as you rightly stated there were several email exchanges between myself and Nick, Stu & Steve but I used my discretion and did not publish them here. Even if they were published, my language was always business like and polite......so I don't know to what you're referring. However, there IS long term anger and bitterness between us, SO only a fresh EVEN start could lay the foundation for a warm working envoironment and any future projects......simple as that. Their earlier mistakes caused their downfall 20 years ago, and here they are again, making exactly the same ones, which is why I said, 'They have clearly learned nothing from life'. If they come to their senses, my door and Jez's is always open and we've told them that. Happy new year. Limahl ;--)) - Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 17:47:43 (GMT)
Name: Torsten From: London/ England Comments: Yes Bernie my dear there are two sides to every story and you obviously have heard just one. I am utterly convinced that Limahl has made the right decision to stay clear of the Kajagoogoo debacle. From my understanding royalties should be shared equally between songwriters who contribute to the writing and performing of a song. That is the honourable and decent thing to do. Limahl has, I believe tried to draw a line under the past by his negotiations to even out such payments. The negotiations failed, but hey, so what, Limahl was and is the face of that short lived band and actually is the only one really continuing to make a decent living from music. And in terms of what he might be doing next watch this space. A reformed Kajagoogoo would only be a novelty act anyway these days, Limahl is far more credible. Happy New Year and and end to all this nonsense! - Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 12:23:49 (GMT)
Name: Bernie From: Manchester/ UK Comments: Dear All, First of all I'd like to say that I'm a fan of the WHOLE band and have been since '83. I was shocked and saddened by Limahls' entry in the guest book. I feel it was incredibly unprofesional of him to talk about the rest of the guys in the way that he has. I know Steve,Stu and Nick, and have seen the e-mails that were exchanged between Limahl and the rest of the band after the VH-1 gig.........let me tell you it makes for very interesting reading!! I would not be so indiscreet as to divulge what was said, it's not my place to. All I will say is that there are two sides to every story, and I think if you all knew the real reasons behind the reform not happening you would be amazed. Limahl accuses the guys of not having learned anything from life...the same has to be said of him I'm afraid. Limahl is firmly rooted in the past. He was offered what was potentially a great deal with a lot of touring, but turned it down because he wanted to a bigger piece of the pie. Greed is unfortuately not an attractive quality in anyone. - Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 11:01:24 (GMT)

Name: June From: Germany Comments: To the "2 formerly fans": Sorry, but how often will you say good bye ? Go away and never look back after 20 years being a fan ? I can`t do that, because he gaves me so much with his music in all these years and during hard times. I was at the Reunion gig and it was very good to see them all together, but you can`t look behind the scenes and so you have to accept the decisions. For me it`s only important to see that Limahl is going on for us. A Happy New Year to Limahl and all the fans ! - Sunday, December 28, 2003 at 23:08:46 (GMT)

Name: 2 fromerly fans From: xx Comments: Limahl, it would be nice if you would care for your fans and not play insult Diva. You can’t let your fans behind for month and then come back as if nothing has happened. Also you had the chance to make a reunion with Kajagoogoo and we can’t believe what you said about the guys! My friend and I know two of them and we both think that they are more adult as you. Sorry, but we were fans of you for 20 years and we were always on your side because of what has happened years ago – but now we are sure it wasn’t only their fault. You should think about your words…it’s ok that you told Kajagoogoo what you are thinking about them – but it’s not ok to settle your conflicts on this side and to insult the guys after you had such a great gig with them! We are really disappointed… - Sunday, December 28, 2003 at 17:56:44 (GMT)

Name: Limahl From: London (UK) Comments: Hi Ilona and everyone,MERRY XMAS,hope you all had fun, I've just got off the exercise bike trying to burn off those extra calories I scoffed (well it is part of the fun innit),just to let you know I have NOT recently signed to EMI records as the BBC website article states (it did make me chuckle),but watch this space coz there's a lot of things in the pipeline for 'Limahl' in 2004. It doesn't look like there'll be a Kajagoooo reunion EVER......we simply can't come to agreement over certain business matters.......nevermind, I'm having a great time performing solo or with my own musicians and I look forward to many more throughout 2004.....I do wish the Kajagoogoo gang all the best but I think they're really foolish, short sighted and repeating the same mistakes they made 20 years ago when they fired me (partly on the advice of their long term manager friend Paul Ryan) who then ripped them all off)......they have obviously learned nothing from life (by the way, I told them all this privately too)......we had/could have a certain musical chemistry and its a pity......but hey, that's life, we all make our choices !! Hope some of you can make it to the Coventry show on New Years Eve (lets hope it doesn't rain). Big xmas hug. Limahl xx - Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 16:02:22 (GMT)
