Most PCs already have the capability to play videos either directly in the browser or with the Windows Media Player. However with other browsers you often need to download a player or a plugin for your browser in order to view the clip.

There are a number of free plugins and players that are available for download from the web. :

• Quicktime -recommended plugin if you are using the Opera browser. Advice on installing can be found at http://my.opera.com/customize/plugins/ . Quicktime is also the main player used on Macs and can be obtained from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/
• Winamp -an alternative to Microsofts Media player and can be used with the Netscape browser -http://www.winamp.com/
• Windows Media Player from http://www.microsoft.com/
