Limahl Guest Appearance on I Love The 80s

Show recorded on 23rd October 2000 and broadcast 3rd February 2001 on BBC2.

Now 80s with mullet

This series involved lots of people (a large proportian of which were comedians) talking about various aspects of the 1980's. Limahl was featured in an item about mullets, the definition of a mullet being two haircuts -short and spikey on top, and long and disconnected at the back. Examples of people sporting mullets in the eighties were Chris Waddle (footballer) and Robin of Sherwood. Limahl went one step further than all other mullets by having it shaved at the sides -three haircuts in one.

Clips of Limahl back in 1983 appearing on Top of the Pops was shown. Limahl commented on how at the time he thought people might like the style but that he had never expected others to copy it.

The item then moved onto discussion of the sculptured hairstyle worn by the lead singer from A Flock of Seagulls. Limahl remarked on how he used to try to imagine what that quiff would be like first thing in the morning and of his admiration of the bravery and gall of the guy for wearing such a hair style.
